Company Overview
United Biomedical, Inc. (UBI) is an international bio/pharmaceutical firm with cutting edge technology utilizing reverse genomics and synthetic peptide chemistry, coupled with traditional pharmaceutical and therapeutic delivery systems. The company has been built with a corporate culture that strongly emphasizes innovation, with goals to provide products for unmet medical needs.
UBI is committed to treating and preventing diseases with unmet needs by directing the immune system. We have proprietary designer peptides and monoclonal antibody technologies which has been successfully used to produce a line of blood screening diagnostics for diseases affecting 10% of the global population.
We are now using these technologies to develop a pipeline of patented products for use in vaccines and immunotherapeutics for the prevention of Alzheimers Disease, AIDS, and certain allergies. Each of these project programs are with sponsorship in product development by the US National Institutes of Health. The vaccine candidates have extensively efficacy and safety data in non-human primates, in preparation to entry into human clinical trials.
The core UBI revenue streams are generated from our breakthrough blood screening diagnostics, high impact veterinary products, pharmaceutical contract manufacturing for GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Novartis, Sanofi and Roche by UBI-Asia, and by manufacturing and marketing a line of specialty injectable drugs for niche US markets.
The core Human Immunodiagnostic Products include antibody screening tests for HCV, HIV-1/2, HTLV I/II and the SARS Cov. The up-start Veterinary Immunodiagnostic Products are differentiation diagnostic test for FMDV infection in swine and in cattle. In certain countries, innovative immunotherapeutic vaccines for FMD and growth promotion in swine manufactured using UBI designer peptide technology and UBI-Asia manufacturing know-how and outstanding facilities.
UBI corporate headquarters is on Long Island in the USA (Hauppauge, New York) with operational divisions in Taiwan (UBI Asia), Beijing and Shanghai (UBI China). UBI employs over 300 people worldwide.
The US headquarters serves as UBI's base for administration, product and clinical development, and also houses FDA-licensed and USDA-licensed biologics manufacturing facilities. In Taiwan (United Biomedical, Inc., Asia), UBI operates a joint venture pharmaceutical manufacturing operations with a total of 400,000 square feet of land and over 200,000 square feet of cGMP manufacturing facilities capable of producing all pharmaceutical formulations, including capsules, tablets, creams, ointments, oral liquids, suspension, and sterile injectables, and which fully comply with international quality standards. In addition, a pilot plant for production under GMP of CHO cell derived humanized monoclonal antibodies and other protein products has been validated to allow the supply of clinical trial materials. In UBI-China, UBI proprietary technology has supplied reasonably priced human diagnostics to the domestic market for over 10 years.
